Here at Unblock Cumbria, we specialising in unblocking sewage systems and septic tanks. Today we are going to focus on our sewer services. Based in Workington, we provide our sewer services to customers throughout the region. So, if you would like more information about what to do when you next need to unblock a sewer, then read on to find out all about what sewer services we offer.

Sewers Defined

The sewer refers to the underground conduit, which carries away drainage water and waste matter to a treatment plant where it is treated so that it is made harmless. It is important that the sewer is in full working order as it forms part of a larger system of drainage pipes. For the last ten years homeowners have only been responsible for the drains on their property. The sewers, be they shared lateral drains or sewers, are the responsibility of the sewage undertaking – in Cumbria this is United Utilities. Drainage systems on commercial and industrial centres have remained private and are the responsibility of the landowner or the building manager.

Please note that if you are a domestic customer and suspect the sewer is blocked beyond your inspection chamber – either in the shared part or outside of the boundary of your property then you should contact United Utilities on 0345 672 3723.

Unblocking Sewers

At Unblock Cumbria, not only can we unblock toilets and sinks, working on small house drains, but we can also get down to sewer level and unblock any blockages whether on a single domestic or commercial property, industrial park, to a nuclear site, or anything in between.

We have the right tools and equipment to clear your blockages and get your sewage system back in full working order. It is important to maintain sewers, overflowing sewage can be a serious hazard to the environment and wildlife and the last thing you need is visitors, customers, or employees “going through the motions!”

Sewer Repairs

As well as unblocking sewers, we can also carry out sewer repairs. We can employ no-dig technology to first determine the nature of the problem, whether a blockage or if a repair is required. We do this by using CCTV survey equipment, enabling us to inspect the sewer system, As part of our sewer repairs, we can install drain liners and carry out patch repairs when needed.
